A vista into the office of the future

This is delicious.

By now you’ve probably heard about or seen the new Microsoft Office user interface, the future of office computing, the productivity suite for the twenty-first century. Uh, yeah, whatever.

So what does this grand new GUI use as an icon for the Save command?

A floppy disk.

Questions:
  1. What percentage of computers that will be running Vista Office have floppy disk drives?
  2. What percentage of new users are old enough to recognize the icon?
Draw your own conclusions. Don’t draw your own icons, though.

That is precious.

But now I'm wondering how many other applications I use have floppies for their "save" icons. The only other example I could find was Acrobat. Most of the applications I use don't even have a button for "save."
