Typographic notes from all over III: Indian English

My other odd job this week is editing, designing, and producing a business proposal for a client who is meeting with a senior government official in India. That means I have to pay particular attention to the differences between the customs and conventions of typeset American English and typeset Indian English, which is closely akin to British English. Different spell check dictionary. Different punctuation rules. Different spacing rules. Selection of an appropriate typeface. But the proposal will be printed in the US at a quick copy shop, so I have to use an American paper size and hope this doesn’t annoy the recipient too much.
